The Oxford Film Festival in Oxford, Miss will host a ten-week summer series at the beautiful downtown Lyric Theater. RIP: A Remix Manifesto will play on June 29. Doors open at 7 p.m. Movie at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the event. $5 for non members, $3 for Oxford Film Festival members.

Oxford, Miss. – The Oxford Film Festival is working with the newly reopened Lyric Theater, to create a new summer film series.  Films will screen on Mondays, one time only, as a way to bring independent films to the community outside of the festival experience.
A small test summer series last year showed that the local community is thirsty for good film year around as we played three packed out movies last May, June and July.
Building upon our success, and in order to highlight films that may not be available on the festival circuit in time for next year’s festival we are introducing the 10-week “Movie Mondays” beginning on June 1.
The Lyric, located on the Square in Oxford Miss., was recently extensively renovated in 2008.  It was originally opened as a silent movie theater in 1913 and played a variety of films including the world premiere of local William Faulkner’s “Intruder in
the Dust” in 1949.  For years the building was used for retail space but the co-owner Tim
Sims and Bradley Bishop have transformed it into a major venue space for music and film.
The Oxford Film Festival is a non-profit film festival that is held annually in February at the Oxford, Miss. Malco Studio Theater.  The film festival just recently had its 6th anniversary and is looking forward to bringing more quality films and cool people to Oxford.
